  • The Man Who Outgrew His Prison Cell

    Please join us as for a discussion with highly-acclaimed author and criminal justice activist Joe Loya. In his talk, Joe will provide personal insight into the issue of women prisoners. Joe will speak specifically about Clayman's recent collaborative writing project that connects Stanford students with women prisoners in the California prison system. The program goal is to give voice to women prisoners, allowing them to share their stories that are so often overlooked.

    This event is part of the Clayman Institute's 2012-2013 theme which focuses on moving beyond barriers between work, family, and society. Domestic works occupy an integral position in the interstices between work, family, and society, yet their work is often overlooked and underappreciated. This discussion will explore workers’ experiences, and ways to combat injustice.
