Roses from the South: Re-Thinking Gender Analysis from a World Perspective
Description
Raewyn Connell is University Professor at the University of Sydney, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, and one of Australia's leading social scientists. Professor Connell offers a talk focused on how we might think about gender analysis from starting-points in the global periphery; and in what ways that does and does not shift the terms of discussion familiar in north America and western Europe. This talk is co-sponsored by the Sociology Department.
