Claudia M. Mueller

Claudia Mueller received her AB from Harvard College in 1992 and a PhD in Social/Personality Psychology from Columbia University in 1997 (Dissertation: Praise for Intelligence Can Undermine Children’s Motivation and Performance).  She then attended NYU School of Medicine where she obtained her MD in 2001 and completed a residency in General Surgery in 2006.  She completed her specialty training with a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the University of Montreal in 2008.  She has been a faculty member of the Department of Surgery at Stanford since 2008.  Her primary research focuses on the study of children’s health beliefs and their influence on adherence behaviors and overall clinical outcomes.
