Crystal Ng
Graduate Voice and Influence Program 2017-18, Hopkins Marine Station


Crystal Ng is a fifth year PhD student at Stanford’s Hopkins Marine Station. She received her bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley. Prior to Stanford, she was an AmeriCorps member working on watershed restoration and education. Crystal is generally interested in how marine species and communities respond to environmental change. Her dissertation focuses on the impacts of ocean acidification and hypoxia (low oxygen) on grazing communities within giant kelp forests, one of the most diverse and productive habitats on our planet.
