Eamonn Callan

Eamonn Callan is a Professor in the School of Education. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, in English and Classical Civilzation, and his MA in Education, from the National University of Ireland (1976 and 1978, respectively). He received his Ph.D in Philosophy of Education from the University of Alberta in 1982. He became a professor in the School of Education in 1999.

Callan's work draws heavily on contemporary moral and political theory. His principal interests are in civic and moral education, and in the application of theories of justice and democracy to problems in educational policy and practice.
