Indra Levy
Associate Professor in Department of Asian Languages, School of Humanities and Sciences

Indra Levy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Asian Languages in the School of Humanities and Sciences. Her current work examines the nexus of Westernesque women, translation, and modern vernacular literary style in Meiji fiction and theater as a key index of how Japanese writers responded to the exotic difference of modern Western literature. She is also interested in the  life and work of the socialist-feminist critic Yamakawa Kikue.
