Karem Said is a 5th year student in the Department of Anthropology. She earned her master’s degree in Sociology-Anthropology from The American University in Cairo and her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Trinity University. Karem's dissertation examines internet use within a low-income area of Tunis, Tunisia. She looks at gendered ways in which relationships on and offline effectively build the city. Her broader research interests include urban anthropology, gender, digital technologies, political anthropology, and forms of egalitarianism.
