Mona Eskandari

Mona Eskandari is a Ph.D. Candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. She received a master's and bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 2013 and from the University of Arizona in 2011, respectively. She focuses on exploring clinically inspired pulmonary questions, relating to chronic diseases such as asthma and COPD, from a computational mechanics and experimental biomechanics perspective. Her dissertation is titled "Airway Mechanics in Chronic Lung Disease: Theory, Simulation, and Experimentation." Mona also holds a Ph.D. minor in education, establishing a non-profit startup summer camp during her graduate studies for underrepresented student groups to gain exposure to STEM.
