Petra Dierkes-Thrun

Petra Dierkes-Thrun is the newly appointed Director of Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning for the Vice Provost’s Office for Teaching and Learning and a Lecturer in Comparative Literature and Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Stanford. Her areas of expertise are European Fin-de-Siècle and Modernist literature and culture, LGBTQ studies, feminist and queer theory, as well as digital pedagogy in the humanities. In 2015, Petra won a Teaching Excellence Award from the Phi Beta Kappa Society of Northern California and was honored as a foreign-born educational leader in the Bay Area by the World Affairs Council of Northern California. Petra also works as an advisory editor for Boundary 2: An International Journal of Literature and Cultureand was the founding editor of the literary-feminist internet journal The Latchkey: Journal of New Woman Studies.
