Simone Barley-Greenfield
Undergraduate Student, Marine Biology

Simone Barley-Greenfield is a sophomore majoring in marine biology while pursuing a creative honors thesis in feminist studies.  She currently does research with Tadashi Fukami’s ecology and evolution lab examining community assembly through the system of hummingbird-pollinated flowers.  Outside the lab, Simone plays for Stanford Women’s Ultimate, blazes trails in the backcountry of Washington State, obsesses over professional soccer, and scuba dives whenever she can.  The topics of identity and sexuality fascinate Simone, and she takes a keen interest in the many influences and contexts that affect how people relate these concepts to gender.
