Vinod Bhutani

Vinod Bhutani is a Professor of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine at the Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Palo Alto, CA. He is a graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College (India), and received his postgraduate training in Neonatal-Developmental Medicine at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. His prior academic appointments in Philadelphia, from 1980 to 2005, included Temple University (Pulmonary Physiology), University of Pennsylvania (Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology by courtesy and, Adjunct to the School of Nursing), Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Hospital. At the American Academy of Pediatrics, he was elected to the AAP Executive Committee the Section on Perinatal Pediatrics from District III, appointed to the Committee of Fetus and Newborn and the Subcommittee on Hyperbilirubinemia.

He is interested in Neonatology; newborn jaundice, bilirubin biology and kernicterus prevention; pulmonary physiology, pulmonary functions and neonatal ventilation.
