(Xin) Alice Wu
Graduate Voice & Influence Program Fellow 2015-2016, Engineering

Alice Wu is a 5th year PhD student in Mechanical Engineering. She holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She is a recipient of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and a Stanford Accel Innovation Scholar.

Alice’s research as a member of the Biomimetics and Dexterous Manipulation Lab (BDML) focuses on dynamic tactile sensing for robotic locomotion. Specifically, she is developing novel shear and normal force sensors for ground reaction force measurements and terrain classification in small-legged robots.
