Artist's Reception, with Melanie Lacy Kusters

Melanie Kusters is a San Francisco based artist. Trained as a photographer, she works with techniques inspired by photography to create sculpture and installation based work that engages questions of domesticity, the body and the intimacy of everyday settings. Her exhibition at Serra House includes a series of home-made pillows embroidered using her own hair, drawing on images from family photographs. This is her first solo exhibition.
