Michael Rosenfeld: "The Surprising Decline of Workplace Sexual Harassment in the US"
US government data show a dramatic decline of more than 50% in reported sexual harassment of government workers from 1994 to 2016, and an even further drop to 2021. This decline is poorly understood and upends some of our popular theories about the potential efficacy of anti-harassment programs. There is, unfortunately, no parallel data for non-federal workers, a fundamental data deficit that Professor Rosenfeld and his colleagues are trying to solve.
Michael Rosenfeld is Professor of Sociology.
