Nicole Martinez: "Equity in Digital Mental Health Technology Development and Design: Engaging Gender and Intersectionality"
Digital mental health technologies include mental health apps and wearables used to diagnose, monitor and treat mental health issues. Much of the investment and interest in digital mental health has highlighted the promise of these tools to provide much-needed improvements in access and treatment. Drawing from qualitative interviews with digital mental health technology developers, this talk will discuss challenges for developing tools that support broader access and equity in digital mental health, particularly with attention to gender and itntersectionality.
Nicole Martinez is Assistant Professor (Research) of Pediatrics (Biomedical Ethics).
