10:30 - 12:00 PM: Art Workshop & Panel & Discussion

Theme: Be Bold for Change

Discuss, Explore, Create- join this workshop on International Women's Day. Discussion panelists Marcie Bianco (Managing Editor, Clayman Institute) and Sally Small (CCIS) will talk about gender equality, and examine the obstacles that still keep women from fulfilling their potential. Let's be creative and visualize our findings- choose your favorite style (painting, collage, photography). Please bring your own camera, other materials will be provided.

Who's Counting? Marilyn Waring on Sex, Lies and Global Economics

Marilyn Waring demystifies the language of economics by defining it as a value system in which all goods and activities are related only to their monetary value and monetary exchange with the result that unpaid work, usually done by women, is unrecognized and activities that may be environmentally and socially hazardous are regarded as productive. Waring maps out an alternative economic vision based on the idea of time as the one thing we all have to exchange. 

Following the screening, discussion with Anne Firth Murray, Founding President, The Global Fund for Women, moderated by Jasmina Bojic, Camera As Witness Program Director and Founder of the international documentary film festival UNAFF.

Free and open to public.
