Charlotte Hull is a PhD student in U.S. History examining the relationships between early America, the Atlantic and Pacific worlds, and the history of the American West. Her research explores people in motion, long-distance trade, migrations, and how people imagine and establish new social and political systems. Her current research projects include Pacific connections between Alta California and the Hawaiian Islands in the mid-nineteenth century, and the development of women’s education in nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century California.
