Cynthia Newberry
Cynthia McMillian Newberry joined the Clayman Institute staff in 2018 as communications manager. She leads the effort to amplify the Institute's work through print and digital media. In addition to writing and editing for the Institute's newsletter, Gender News, Newberry manages the website and social media channels, and edits the Clayman Institute's upRising magazine. Newberry began her career in print journalism covering health care policy and regulation for Health News Daily in Washington, D.C. She then moved to digital communications, working with organizations such as PBS, Peace Corps, Direct Relief, Hope with South Sudan, and the Happy Hollow Foundation to support their outreach and fundraising goals. Newberry also is enrolled as a student in Stanford's Master of Liberal Arts program.
