Lea Gottlieb joined the Michelle R. Clayman Institute for Gender Research in September 2022 and currently serves as Fellowship Manager. In her role, she oversees fellowship programs for faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students.

Prior to coming to the Institute, she worked at both large and small nonprofits, managing a wide array of responsibilities from facilities planning and operations to full budget and OPEX management to human resources.  As senior administrative director at the University of Southern California, she directed comprehensive administrative functions for the Division for Student Affairs.  At UC San Diego, she conducted special projects for the associate vice chancellor of resource administration and provided expertise in research, data collection, and facility issues. Working with growing nonprofits, like The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), she oversaw contracts administration and internship programming. She also held project management and operations roles at Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Getty Museum.

Gottlieb earned her BA in Art/Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA with an emphasis in nonprofit management.
