Virginia Walbot
Professor of Biology, School of Humanities and Sciences

Virginia Walbot is a Professor of Biology in the School of Humanities and Sciences. She received her B.A. in Biology from Stanford in 1967, before going on to receive both her M.Phil and Ph.D. in Biology from Yale University, and returning to Stanford in 1975, where was awarded associate and then full professorship in 1981. 

Dr. Walbot's research interest is the mechanisms that create allelic diversity and modulate genome stability in plants, and her  laboratory is interested in how genotypic and phenotypic diversity is created during the life cycle of plants.
