Jan Krawitz: "Mother’s Maiden Name"

Mother’s Maiden Name is the “working title” of a short, experimental documentary film sourced solely from archival footage. Instructional films from the 50s will be repurposed to expose and subvert societal messaging about traditional gender roles. In this presentation, Professor Krawitz will discuss the research, creative process, and conceptual challenges of the project.

Jan Krawitz is Professor of Art & Art History.
