Jennifer Freyd: "Sexual Violence, Institutional Betrayal, DARVO, and the Mistrust of Women’s Narratives"

DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) is a common, harmful, and gendered reaction to being held accountable for wrongdoings. Professor Jennifer Freyd and her team will investigate several pressing questions including: To what extent does individual and institutional DARVO (a form of institutional betrayal) result from and/or contribute to gender oppression? How can we effectively nurture individual and institutional courage that promotes anti-DARVO responding?

Jennifer Freyd is Adjunct Professor, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
